Telling the story

The opening of the new Innovation Space building is an important milestone for the faculty. To tell this story we took an extreme perspective on the Innovation Space name. Choosing to position the milestone of its existence, in a space-timeline of enormous innovation milestones; such as the discovery of fire and the invention of the light bulb.

Inspired by the architecture of the new building, all of these milestones are metaphorically morphed into a continuously moving grid; representing the ether of space and time. This grid acted a connecting graphic style between the animations the standard presentation slides. This kept the audience captivated without drawing attention away from the talking presenter.

Components

The exciting introduction of the presentation consisted of multiple 3D modeled components, merging with 2D elements, and then made beautiful through animated graphic design. All of these were individually designed and later combined into a composition that created the presentation’s aesthetic. A layer of sound design accentuated all the abstract animated components making them more concrete, and completing the entire experience.

End Credits

At the end of the presentation, the hosts wanted to be able thank many people for their hard work at Innovation space. To stay consistent with the presentation format we made a credits animation. To transition the presentation into a party mood, the style needed to stay the same, but we could make it a lot more fun! The results was an over the top 80’s Synth Wave style grid, with an old VHS tap feeling and humorous animations.
